i want to take the plastic arches of my gti . i know i need to change the rub strips on the doors . but do i need the change the bumpers ??

Unless you're going for painted rubstrips.
Painted rubstrips with textured top bumpers would look very odd

This was my GTI, I removed the sideskirts as well plus fitted CL bumpers.

Main issue was the standard bumpers were in a poor state, I priced up respraying them but was a lot of money, so whilst looking for some s/h bumpers found a CL so took the bumpers / mirrors / boot handle.
