Hi guys,
Well i got some audi rims yesterday in absolutely mint/brand new condition. tyres are mint 195,45,16...
They are the 5 spoke ones off the earlier spec Audi A3 turbos. ET42
Got afew questions...
1. Where do I get VW Centre Caps from that are Audi fitment?? I tried puttin my standard vw caps in but they are a smaller diamater. I need a slightly bigger diameter cap...
2. I think the rear needs to be put on spacers 5mm maybe as the wheel bearing cap is not going to allow the centre cap to be fitted.
I will upload some pics maybe tomorrow and hopefully someone on here has or is running the same wheels and can help me out.
For now here is the wheels i've just got

hi mate
you might need bigger but I have some 3mm spacers that i was just about to stick on ebay!! let me know if interested!
-
How much and what make spacers??
in a rush mate so I'll pop back online tonight so dont put them on ebay yet dude :afro:
-
3mm spacers should do the trick to be honest.
-
To fit my TT comps i put a 3mm spacer on the rear and it was plenty.
-
FK 3mm (each side) 5/100 spacers from Venom
http://www.venommotorsport.com/product_details.php?id=2848&manufacturer=FK&category=Wheel
Unused, in original box, as the wheels I went for needed more in the end. They went on and came straight off! Cost about £20
£10 delivered?

Do you mean you put the 3mm spacers on the rear to get the centre caps on??
-
anyone know what size vw caps i need to fit to the audi rims ??
-
You can bend the caps in if you ony need a few mm, they are only there to keep the grease clean and to allow it to expand when its hot.
Ive done it before when ive changed the wheels, is a bit pikey but it lasted until i got some lower profile bearing caps
-
ahh right cheers.. but lookin at them on, the rear wheels would look abit better if they has spacers on.. so may not need to do anything with the bearing cap.
I just need to know the correct size for the VW Centre Caps on these wheels... does anyone know??

Measure the holes and trawl EKTA for somthing else in the Vag Range bound to be something close

Sorry ETKA

Still dont know what u mean lol

You need a cap that fills the centre hole.
Measure your cap and the hole so you have an idea of the important sizes.
Then:
1) look through Vagcat (Etka) for something close (or if you are lucky will clip straight in) and Modify to fit maybe using old caps and grafting it on.
2)Audi caps, Filler , paint and Decal
3) Wheel Shop+Wheel

Isnt the centre bore 57.1mm so guess you would need that size.
-
not sure but cheers bush...
I'll have a butchers and measure the wheel bore and the old standard longbeach caps and find a slightly bigger cap, then it should be fine :afro:
But they do look nice on the golf tho, better than on the A3's.
I'lll get pics up tomorrow.
