Title: GTI servicing
Post by: deep_thought42 on 10 March 2010, 12:59
Was offer fixed price servicing when I took delivery of my new car for approx. £18 per month, supposedly includes everything except the tyres.

Dealer said with the mileage I will be doing (10,000) its not worth including the tyres at just over £30 per month.

Works out at £216 per year, is it worth it !!!

does that include all parts and labour, as I asked them that and they said it only covers part of the cost.

Lee do you know if this can be bought retrospectively?
I was told when I picked my car up in October last year that VW would contact me with an option of buying the fixed price service, however I've heard nothing.

I haven't contacted VW but I was definitely told they would be in touch with me. I'm sure with a decent worded letter I'd be in with a good shout of getting it.
At the end of the day, does it really matter when you buy it?

The £250 for 3 years/30,000 deal can  be taken upto 90 days after purchase. You need to buy it from the same garage you bought the car from, but it can be used at any dealer for servcing.
I asked when i bought mine but was advised incorrectly, so i have now got back in touch and they are calling me back. Well worth buying. So don't delay if you are within 90 days but it !(i'm not a Salesmen !)

My VW customer service claims handler said i could buy it from any dealer  I really don't want to hand over another £250 to my supply dealer. If i don't have too.

when i went to see my dealer earlier this week they had the little leaflets with the wooden clothes pegs on the salesman's desk :)
my dealer hasn't really been hard sell to me, so never really told me about this offer, but seeing the leaflets and reading this thread reminded me that i should go for it.

main dealer services normally cost me £100-200 a time for my old car, £250 for 3 years servicing on a performance-esque motor like the GTI seems a BARGAIN. for most of us who like to look after GTIs well, it seems almost offensive not to take up this offer. I'm sold on it. dealer has added it on the invoice.
