Title: How long did it take for your new Golf GTI to arrive from order.

Just one Week for me.

Contacted VW customer services and asked which dealer had stock. Gave them a call and just agreed a deal over the phone.

I don't think I could wait up to 8months !!!

two weeks from first visit to showroom and leaving a minimal amount to book the car. I needed 10 days to decide between 1 series and the GTI.

Last time at the last minute I got a beamer instead of a GTI, not this time.

ordered 7 December  -  BW last week  -  told on Monday that production is complete and that should be on the ship by Friday  -  delivery by 22 March. I actually believe that that is what the dealer believes but I'll still be amazed if I see the car in March. :rolleyes:

12 weeks for my GTI

Waited 18 months for Merc ML to be delivered

Ordered 15th September 2009 just rang vw uk has been made w/comm 15th feb still awaiting shipment from emden . Am starting to get really naffed off now !!!

production complete 15 Feb and still awaiting shipping?!?! Flippin' heck  -  what a mess!! Fat chance of me seeing mine before the end of April even if, as I'm told is the case, it's at the port now. :angry:

Ordered 7th August 2009, and still waiting.... although it is now in the UK awaiting transport to my dealer.

My mk6 is good 6.5 months from order to delivery to the dealer.
Because of the southern monkey dealer he seems to want to hold onto it for a few weeks at least! So i still don't have it.  :angry:

Ordered 23rd May and collected from dealer 27th July.  Absolute class car, still loving it 7 months down the line don't think it could be bettered.

Ordered the first week in July, picked it up 17th September.  Could have had it a few days earlier if I hadn't been on holiday.

My advice to you all, if your still waiting, call vw customer services, and ask which garages have them in, and go and get one fron there and cancel your order...

you should not have to wait more than 3 months

Ordered on Jan 27th 2010 and was told about 3 months, which I took to mean 4 months. From the other posts it sounds like even this is going to be optimistic.

I think that if I heard that it was being delayed at the docks or at the dealers then a "full and frank discussion" would take place!

im like u.  mine was 2 weeks only because i was busy and i had to amend my order to 18inches.
why on earth wait 8 months- by that time there will be loads about.  not only was it 2 wks but the idea of buying one was there and then.  were looking at audi avant.  stock models are best- they're usually the most bought spec so very desirable and if u sell privately- itll go quicker than say eg. a green one. adding loads of unneccessary spec just makes it a bonus for 2nd hand buyers.

ordered early August 2009, Picked up on Saturday.

My dealer reckons anyone ordering now will still have a stupidly long wait.
I hope for everyones sake things improve.
