Hi im new to this forum as iv just bought a mk5 golf gti 2006. im after a dump vlave whitch makes a flutter blow off noise and was woundering if any one on here had managed to find one. iv look around and i know that as standard they have a electronicaly opertaed one and unless i was to buy the spacer for the solenoid then thats the way to get the noise. was just woundering that the forge spacer carnt be the only unit for the car to get the noise. would be great if someone could help with this.

This is what I said to someone the other day that asked the same question.
A blow off valve offers no benefit other than making you look like your in a Scooby or a Skyline out of The Fast and The Furious.
This adaptor fits to your standard DV to give you that *cringe* loud woosing / chatter sound.

With your car being remapped I would strongly suggest you get an uprated replacement diverter valve:

I have the uprated Forge one on my car. These can be found cheaper elsewhere, I bought mine from R-Tech when I got the car remaped.

My advice would be to get the uprated OEM valve from VW (off the Mk 6). Blow off valves could actually decrease performance depending on the design - plus, they are for chavs :)

I really wouldn't recommend getting one, they sound sh** on the Golf, had the adaptor for a few days then took it back off because it was embarrassing :embarassed:! Your better off getting the Forge DV especially if you are remapping etc.

^^^ Agreed - dump valves are for Saxos, not GTI's.
Go for either of the OEM revision 'D' or revision 'G' valves from VW.
They are piston type valves and can be used when remapped. They are almost as good as the Forge one, but less than half the price of the Forge valve.

Using a dump valve can lead to power loss and management errors since the air won't be recirculated and the engine expects it to be. Like in the mk4.

If your looking for more of an induction noise, ie hearing the turbo whoosh sounds, then why not go for an open filter
air intake!? i have a nuespeed p-flo along with my forge dv on my remapped gti, and it sounds great, subtle without sounding chavy!
