They are 16" and as you can see in the last picture 7.5J. It does say E35 on the inside of the rims too so is that the ET? They aren't the kind of wheels I was looking for but as they are free I'll give them a go I think. What tyre size do you guys recommend? 225/40/16? Alos they could do with a really good clean. I gave them a quick once over but would like to go to town on them. What can people suggest to get them looking good again?

Do they have the right PCD and centre bore size for your car mate?
I would think the E35 represents the offset.. can't complain for free - might have been better in 17 though..

205 55 u will need as i have these on my standard golf alloys which are 16s
-
Ooh they look nice

there some smart free alloys mate, id also put 205 on then and not 225! i wouldnt got 55 tho, to big for my liking but thats just my opinion. how u manage to get them free??

Nah not a lorry. My girlfriend's cousin's boyfriend used to have a VW but he rolled it. He gave up modifying cars after that but still had the alloys. Never got round to selling them then when I got my golf he said he had a set that would fit and I could have them. If I decide to get rid I can sell them and have all the dosh too
What size tyres are we thinking then? 205/55's or like werna said something smaller. Maybe 204/45?
-
fair play mate, always good feeling when you get something free
i always find that when modding cars the smaller tyre the better. when i got my car i had 225/45/18 so when i needed new tyres i went for 205/45/18 look loads better.
