Hi Guys,
Had my car serviced today by a local back street garage. I provided all the kit for them to use straight from VW.
Just had a look at the Oil on the dip stick tonight and it isn't lovely and transparant - Still pretty much black.
Should the colour deteriate that quickly?? As in a 4 mile drive home?
They left me the remaining half litre of oil in the can in the boot so it's definately been used somewhere or tipped away. I'm a little concerned to be quite honest. :undecided:

its a diesel they oil will always look like that!!

Cheers for the reply mate.
The Oil in the bottle is nice and clean looking though.
I can understand the blackness after time but in 4 miles, is that right????

as far as i know from what ive seen and done its always black joys of owning a derv mate...
-
Fair play - If it's supposed to be black then I'm happy!!

Does everyone else agree with this?

Yes, when mine was serviced at VW i checked the oil after and it was black with a hint of new oil. lol  i wasn't impressed either, so i did the next service myself.
As long as theres oil on the dip stick at the correct level i would not worry. :afro:

Turns black so quick on a derv, is that something to do with the way the oil is used or burnt or something?

I agree dude. Do all servicing myself and when checking the oil level after fill it is basically black and that's after a quick idle to fill the filter!
