also consider blue velvet  its a hard wax where as purple haze is a soft wax, hard wax will be more effort to apply and remove but will give you a nice glossy look and it will last you longer than a tub of soft wax, soft wax is really easy to apply and remove and gives you a really wet look but you'll go through slightly quicker than a hard wax. both though are very good and well worth the money imho.
ive got some banana armour hard wax coming this week :smug: cant wait.
-
hey dan, yeah im using hard wax at the mo, its difficult on my paint to remove, especially with no machine!
thats why im thinking try a soft wax as the jetseal is sooo nice to remove (i love that stuff)
What is banana armour hard wax ?
-
Another of the dodo offerings Kells
-
great work man

if your finding it a bit difficult to remove you may be putting too much on plus its bloody freezing outside still so that could be a factor, but im swaying more towards your putting too much on, alot of peeps say this about there hard waxs but its always down to too much being put on the car and being left too long and basically cakes onto the surface making it a pig to remove.
if your set on getting a soft wax then as we discussed above purple haze is the beezneez, the same procedure applys with soft wax's  apply thinnly and do a little bit at a time to avoid caking, remember the more you put on the more you got to remove which is waisted product
-
i think you may be right re putting too much on.
seems to be the bonnet which is the biggest pain in the ass haha, got to buff like crazy if not i can see where the wax was if that makes sense
i am going to try a soft wax then compair to see which i prefere
oh and cheers Guy
-
Try a little spray of a quick detailer if it's really hard to remove
-
cheers will try that one, i have some of that
its hard to explain just hwat i mean, its like it leaves shadows in the paint, have to really buff to get them to go, bloody arms are killing still
-
wow!! just gotta love black when it shines as much as yours  awesome looks the dogs danglies indeed
-
looking sweet dude   yeah elbow grease ftw, very shiny car=big arms+chest

are you letting it cure for long enough?
-
i leave it around half hour before buffing off and/or re applying other coats ??
-
cheers will try that one, i have some of that

Yeah, best way to get rid of the shadows without 'effin' up your elbow is dampen the cloth a tiny bit and then go over it, works a treat :)
-
nice trick ill try that one
-
You.ve done an excellent job there kells looks stunning, love your wheels !!!
-
thanks man
-
f**k off Kells.

What I appreciate without arse licking is that everything is done properly.
No half arsed sh!te, although I'd have got steel adapters. :lipsrsealed:
-
cheers
and cheers matty hehe
steel is too heavy for the adapters matey, i looked at all options and weight needs to be minimum to stop damage to other components, the adapters were very expensive
-
Whats the stuff you using on the exterior plastics of your car? Im using Chemical Guys gel and it works a treat lasts for ages ... about 2-3 rain showers before I get streaks and what not, and have to go over.
Your car must look absolutely sick @ dusk no? ... weve got a black motor and after I clean that its always gleaming at dusk, SUPER gleaming I mean like its wet and covered with water.
-
at dusk the car looks sooo good haha i love it, you know what i mean dont you :)
i use Augo glym bumper care, still like it best, although im a huge fan of chemical guys stuff too
-
Fair play, lookin at your pics makes me wish I had a black car again ... my previous motor was a black car and I loved cleaning that all because the shine at dusk was worth it!!! people just staaaaaaare .... hence I knew what you were on about when you said the wax leaves a shadow like residue. Only happens on dark coloured cars ;)
-
i love black cars, for me the only colour for a golf GTI is black, i had a mk2 16v and that was black too, i dunno why i just like them in black, and yeah i wondered how you knew what i meant, you know the score then totally. the dusk thing is good in summer with the sun... love it haha, black takes some keeping upto but worth it totally.. (unless your lazy )
