Title: GTI MK4 CD player

Bought myself a T-reg Mk4 GTI Yesterday, and basically it's got the "CD" option on the head unit, but i Have no CD player in the boot.... apparently they are like 700 quid??

Is this right?!

Any idea's ??

Post by: vwjake on 07 March 2010, 21:53: hi mate you can pick up a second hand changer on ebay for around 60-85 quid just search vw audio and if the cables not there again on ebay for 20-30 quid i did this to add a changer to my standard head unit works a treat!! :smiley:

if its the former its a dealer only part and will set you back about £40 - then you got to run it from the front to the back..........

run from the headunit down the passenger side - its the only way it will go as the lead isn't long enough to go the other way

glove box out
remove the door sill trim
remove the lower b-pillar trim
remove the trim by the rear seat
remove the trim inside the cubby hole in the boot

You got the bracket to mount the changer in the cubby hole? think thats about £20 or so

Post by: vwjake on 08 March 2010, 20:02: i ran mine down the side of the car passanger side under the plastic trim had to take the glovebox out to run it behind wasnt too bad a job plenty of room under plastic trim also ran rca cables for my sub at the same time :smiley:
