Title: brakes again sorry

I no this thread has been gone over so many times but I want to upgrade to 312mm discs i have searched but the only good one on there quite old so all the links dont work so i cant get a proper price. My calipers are nackered so im going to need them as well so does anyone no where i can get them from and how much for calipers, carriers, discs and pads. cheers.

this set up is just for the front would i need to upgrade the back as well or would the back be ok to leave 288mm.

The standard rear is 232mm solid. You can upgrade to 256mm vented but you wont gain much in terms of braking.

312mm will be fine with you standard rear set up.  :smiley:

Ok cheers But i need new calipers for the back because mine are in well bad condition wheres the cheapest place to get them

Audi brakes are 312mm don't know about rears but as everyone says it's only for show nothing to do with braking

It will help but the difference is not as significant as upgrading the fronts simply because the fronts do 70-80% of the braking

Justs to let you know (if you didn't already) the calapers are exactly the same along with the pads for the 312mm discs!Its the carriars that are diffarant. If you say your need new calipers any mk4 GTI 1.8t can be a good doner. Dosn't have to be TT, Anniversary, etc. The carriars some time come up on ebay but i coulden't find a link this time around to show you. This might save you a few quid mate  :smiley:.

yeh cheers all i need is the standard golf rear calipers i think the carriers are fine and then i just want discs and pads for the back, i just think that vw will be so expensive and didnt no where else to go cheers for looking anyway though.

You need 312mm carriers - 2 of 1J0615125A and 312mm discs.

Pads are the same fore 288mm and 312mm  :nerd:

Carriers part number 1J0 615 125 A £108.13 each. Total comes £216.26, it's expensive  :shocked:
