Title: 3 Button keyfob
Post by: Rhyso on 07 March 2010, 15:08
After reading  this thread  (http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/254502.aspx) and with a mod planned for the end of the month I purchased a 3 button keyfob

Swapped the top half of my key over and paired the new remote to the car

End result - middle button now unlocks the boot but not the rest of the car   It will then re-lock the boot after you've closed it so you got to be careful not to leave your keys in there

If you want to do the same read the thread i posted as it may NOT work depending on the year of your car

Had it within 2 days of buying it and it worked straight away - its brand spanking new too so I might buy another for a spare

all you have to do is sync the keyfob to the car either via the door lock method or vagcom.

The transponder for the immobiliser is in the top half of the key behind the VW badge which you swap onto the new remote

either do that of follow this guide
http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=77197.0

That will only unlock / lock the car -  it does NOT program the immobiliser chip

Hi all i know this is an old thread but i have 3 button HLO 1JO 959 753 P my old one was 2 button HLO 1JO 959 753 AG my car is 433mhz. The new fob does indeed unlock the boot on its own by holding down the boot unlock button no mods needed.Yes

I bought one but I can't get it cut. I took it to timpsons but the guy said it's locked and he won't cut it. If the immobiliser chip isn't in it will it be a problem I'm only gonna use it for a spare I've only got one key.
