Title: hi, i have a mk4 looking to upgrade it, where sholud i start?

Hi, I have just got myself a golf GTI MK4 1.8.t 1999, it’s the 150BHP model so am looking to upgrade it to get some more fun out of it.

I have £1000 to spend right now, and looking to lay out a bit more as the year goes on what do you think I should upgrade first?

I have heard about remapping and chipping but have been told some horror storeys about this so am not sure. any advice would be helpful

and if your going to make it faster ....dont forget to upgrade the brakes as well ...
