I need to know everything - what oil to use, the amount to put in, any tips etc?!! Im hoping its going to cure the second gear crunch when cold! Cheers.

hopefully you saw my recommendation of using some decent synthetic oil (it costs a bit more but can work wonders)

5 litres but double check that

I'm sure its just under 2 litres (I have a little left from 2 ltr's each time I changed on my old 8v's)
-
1.9 litres and VW reccomend sythetic for the gti anyhow
-
Really, I picked up the oil for my mates mk3 which
is now mine and I brought two 3litres as the guy told
me 5litres.
-
engine is only 3.8 ltr....
-
Yeah.
Guess I did go into motorworld for it, but he did
check some book and say that's what I needed.
Guess my mate didn't use it all then

I think the capacity of the box is 2.1 litres, but some will always stay in it.
Fill it until it trickles out of the filler plug hole.
-
2.1 on the 02a (16v/vr) box
1.9 on the 020 (1.8/8v) box

Dumbass!!!!!!! I let the fluid out of the side and then started to refill through the top before realising that thats where the clutch lives!!Luckily i only put a drop in there, what was i thinking!!! It seems okay now though, clutch slipped a few times but i took it for a good spin and its stopped doing it now, hope i havent done any damage!! And second gear crunch better be cured!!!
