Alright peeps...
Got a powerflow exhaust cat back system (which used to be a decat aswell - not very loud and is a straight through (in 2 sections) to one back box with twin Dtm tails - dunno why it only had 1 box as my original exhaust has 2??? anyone know why??) anyway the decat was chopped off to fit over a standard cat via a sleeve, (by whom i do not know lol).. bought it off here about 6-8 months ago... Had a nightmare with it banging the body of the car above the rear axle, but sorted that out.... but am having a constant problem of leaks at the sleeve area where it joins to the cat.
I've just had it re-done with a new sleeve on it and all is fine (UP TO NOW no leaks :afro: ...costing me nothing which is good. anyway the guy said 'the bore of the cat is slightly smaller that the bore of the stainless pipe, which is causing the problem....
Does anyone know the bore size of a standard cat and wether a slightly smaller bore for the cat, joint to a slightly bigger bore to the stainless pipe joint are available and would this sort the problem??
I'm gettin annoyed with it now, leaking exhausts sound soooooooo crap.
It was fitted to a 8v agg by previous owner and i fitted it to my 8v agg. and fits quite well....
Any help / suggestions plz guyz - and bet this was a mouth full
Cheers.

Anyone???
:undecided:
-
Aww, diddums.
-
powerflow = cheep tat, cheep materials and poor fit, bin it mate
-

Can i get a reducer then that would be better than a sleeve??
and i agree powerflow are crap but so are most aftermarket stuff crap.
-
I put a powerflow on mine and it annoyed me that much that I fell out with both it and the car and sold the lot
Found out that the centre ssection on the Corrado was powerflow and that was fooked so that got binned as well
Got a milltek on now
-
hmmmmmm well cant afford a cat back new system really..... and to be honest the exhaust is in good nick, just needs a proper joint to join it up better than a sleeve does.
anyway the thread was about a exhaust connection problem..... nothing to do with how good they are or not.
so keep your sh!t to yourself :afro:

-
yeah but mate, you problem is because they are sh!te, so bin it and get something decent (Magnex, Miltek etc) or even standard
if you cant aford it then stop the moaning, and attitude, save up and get something that wont leak..
pretty simple really
-
lol
Dunno wether i'll be keepin the car that long to be spending lots of money on it. so sorting out what i've got is what needs to be the main task.
if i cant get hold of a reducer i'll make one at work on a lathe in the tool room
-
go to another custom exhaust place see what them say, and see if they can make you up a new reducer etc ? prob your best bet
-
They sell them on the bay but if you don't know the size then it's best to do as Kells says and go to a custom exhaust company to see if they can sort you
-
Kells - Thats the best advice youve given in this thread.
:afro:
Now thats all i asked for, not aload of slavver.
just jokin haha... in a silly mood today haha.
anyway will do that kells. cheers mate
-
no problems, could see you was in a angry mood, happens to all of us
let us know how you get on
i do feel for you as iv had experience with powerflow before and it wasnt pretty
-
luckily i've just found a custom exhaust place that make up any system for any car 10miles away from me, so i've emailed them and hopefully they get back to me with some good info
cheers peeps
