Title: Oil and Tyre Pressure
Post by: davoaj on 03 March 2010, 17:06
I've done a search but strgugled to find anything definitive.

Just wondering what oil is best for a post '90 spec 16 valve GTI and also what tyre pressures I should be running on. It's on BBS RA's although not sure if the tyres are 185/55/15's or 190/50/15's so will need to check that when I get home tonight.

Cheers

Yeah. I've just done two searches "oil grade" and "tyre pressure" and got answers to both your questions in less than a minute. Put a bit more effort in.

Tyre pressure will be the same for both 185/55 or 195/50. Buy a decent brand of oil, not the cheapest.

Fair enough mate, I'll do the same searches.

Good man. I'd use 10W40 semi-synthetic oil and 30psi all round.

I'll second that  10/40 + 30psi

Having improved my search skills I would agree entirely!!

Big day of detailing tomorrow, been itching to get stuck in to it all week but been stuck in work.
