Hi guys,
Someone has scuffed my car today! the rear arch. i think the car in question is white.
i managed to get some of his/her paint off but not all off it.
i was left with a white mark which wouldnt budge, plus i think the arch is slightly dented (or slightly out of shape, not noticeable though).
so iv touched it up with paint for now. my question is, will this now rust?
Cheers
Mac

now you've painted it! it should minimise the chances of rusting but you can never garauntee it im afraid.
have you got any pics?

If the dent in the arch isn't noticable, what makes you think a dent is there?
-
ill get some in the morning.
because if you look at it from a certain angle it looks like it has slightly caved in!
thanks for the replies.
any way of preventing any rust? mk4 golf by the way

Didn't VW bodies years ago be rust proof? I seemed to remember on my Mk2 the body being rust free.
-
once you crease any part of the body panels it breaks or cracks the galvinise or whatever they use now days to prevent rust which allows water/salt/oxygene to get to the metal causing the rust process to start, the paint also gets disturbed and will eventually lift from the panel in the disturbed area.
if your dent isnt too bad i wouldnt worry about it too much

cool, you have made me feel slightly better lol. ill get a pic up for you tomorrow to have a alook at
