Title: Central locking?
Post by: quaduplex on 28 February 2010, 17:54
Hi all,

My first post as a new Mk3 diesel owner - gotta love the veg!

I've tried searching on this problem but can't find anything related.

My central locking works from the passenger door but not from the drivers door. Any pointers? I assume the system is pneumatic?

Cheers!

Cheers for the reply matey.

Turning the lock, locks the door but doesn't activate the central locking...

I do need to get the card off and explore though, your right..

Hmm in that case check the vac hose is on the lock, if the lock turns and it locks the car then it can only indicate a busted door catch...

COmmon fault is when you turn the key it does nothing and like i say the paddle bits break on the back, but as yours lock's but don't do any thing else i would say a bust door catch...

Remove the door card and oil the lock and catch from the inside with plenty of wd40, work the lock at the same time to try and free it off... Failing that get a second hand lock form scrappys....

Cheers matey. I remember the paddle thing now - changed them once on an old Ibiza.

I'll take a look behind the door card.
