Title: Carpet
Post by: T_J_G on 28 February 2010, 16:56
I have a slight leak in my drivers side footwell, is the car carpet all one piece?

Any idea how hard it is to remove?

Yes the carpet is all one piece, pretty simple to remove seats out and remove a few bits of trim etc........

You might get an idea as to what needs to come off from this pic of mine.

It even had a green neon to illuminate the fmic

I was the only one who saw potential, even dubber friends had doubts.I saw leather recaro's fmic and a few other goodies fitted, the car hadn't been mapped(easy life for the car),everything else was purely cosmetic changes.

How did you seal the bonnet release grommit patch?

I ran the gauge line through the fuse box and put the grommit back to where it should have been.

I need to find a bonnet release cable grommit somewhere! Do you have to remove the cable though to fit it?

There's 2 listed on VAGCAT, they'll be peanuts from VW:
357823591
3D0823591

Shouldn't have to remove cable.  Make a neat single cut (stanley) down one edge, fit around the cable and into bulkhead.  Perhaps use a drop of silicon in the cut to be sure.
