Mark VI owners - happy with ACC (the only option I'll add before what I think will be my BW next week)?

Yes I'm happy and its good, but its pricey, and I probably wouldnt spec it if I had the choice again.

Thnx - it's not the sport mode I'm thinking about - it's the motorway comfort mode - do you drive on m'ways in comfort mode? I guess without ACC, it's always in the equivalent of your normal mode - much better on m'ways in comfort mode?

James.... Please stop, ACC has been covered at great length time and time again. please just use the search.

I won't change anything if it'll prevent me getting my BW fixed for next week - I was told that liitle changes, like adding ACC, can be accommodated just before the BW is fixed (unlike a big change like 3 to 5 door)

Jimble - I didn't think of using the search - I'll do that

Have i missed something? if the build week is confirmed then ANY changes would mean submitting a new order. and you said in another thread that it is confirmed!

actually, j, you might be right! I think the dealer said that the BW was fixed but that it's whatever next week's BW is, ie it's not the BW that we are in now so I was thinking that I could make minor changes before next week - I might not have understand correctly but that's what it sounded like to me - he did say delivery would be mid/end March

no james, ACC is always working even in 'normal' mode.
have you really placed an order or are you just playing with everyone?
the way your going you might as well wait for the mk7....

No James. If the build week is locked then you can't make any alterations at all.
That is why everyone and their granny advised you to contact VW direct to see if it had been locked, which on one would have been good news if it was and on the other would mean you could change your order.
However you seem to have chose to ignore everyone's advice which really begs the question, "Why are you asking all these questions?!?"

I was just worried that the dealer would find out that I was asking and that would be embarrassing if he is telling me the truth - and, p3, I guess the fact that I didn't must mean that I don't have a serious desire to change the spec - anyway, if that's that, ok - ACC or no ACC - whatever.....thnx

James I work in psychiatry and have done for 24 years so therefore deal with a lot of folk with problems and as such have built up an enormous tolerance of individuals.
However this goes totally against the grain from everything I have ever been taught but I just want to give you a bloody good shake and yes no smillie

If you shake him too much he might make a bigger mess than he has already!
Please don't respond to him except on the 'James Gould Show' thread which I started.
I have responded to him re ACC on his thread.
ACC as far as James is concerned means A COMPLETE COCK!

I agree with Kev.  It's good, but I think if I didn't have it I wouldn't miss it.  I wouldn't have specced it if it weren't for my elderly mother and her aversion to bumps.

James, it's too late anyway.  Be happy.  You'll get your car soon.

Rolfe.
