Hi Guys
After allot of thinking i went for 60/40 springs and gas damper kit, could not bring myself to be endlessly fiddling with coiliovers
I am well chuffed wanted to keep my 15" wheels and wanted tires level with the arches, allot of people said i would need to go bigger than 15" to get this, so i took a gamble and i think it's paid off
Have a look and see what you think, don't mid if you think it look naff i really like it

was gona say it like it needs to be lower at the front, but the 4th picture makes it look spot on.
I think it looks really nice mate, well done.
How does it feel to drive now? don't care about comfort. has it improved the handling?
-
normally drops a couple of mil over the next fews days from fitting, but looks cool
Not sure why you want to keep the original wheels :undecided:

Looks wicked mate! Was thinking of doing this drop myself. You've defiantly made the case stronger. just a few questions tho:
What spring and shock kit is it your using?
Does the harder suspension make it alot more uncomfortable than stock?
Are there any rubbing issues etc?
Cheers!!!

Well i did want to keep it standard looking, i have managed to get hold of a set of 15" TSW Hockenheim R's which are quite period for it, mid 90's and all that, just deciding weather to leave it standard of get the TSW's powder coated in Graphite grey and stick them on not sure yet :undecided:

Standard mate! I've been thinking the same for a while. Not many left with black trim and standard wheels. I'm gona space the rears 20mm also.

looking great m8! i had a 60/40 drop on my mk3 polo which looked perfect. and ive been thinking about doin the same to the golf for months now. probs been put off by every one on here sayin there will be massive gaps, coilovers are the only way to get it lookin half decent bla bla. ur car and few others on here with 60/40ive seen have made my mind up. i will go for the same make as my polo had, H&R, very good make they are, if more pricey.
again looks brillaint!

Looks sick, debating how to lower mine, think I may well do the same now! Let us know if you have any rubbing problems, also is the ride much harsher? It doesn't really bother me, i'm just intrigued!
-
Yeah really like the look mate, I agree with the original wheels to. It's something I want to do, but I've got to sort out my not starting from hot issue first!! After sorting this problem it will leave me on a budget, so may well look into the same kit.
Nice one mate

I lowered an Ibiza today. £100 cash in hand, took me 3hrs. If only I could do that twice a day, 5 days a week!
-
Looks spot on mate, and is exactly the same colour as mine so it has made my mind up for me! Did you do it yourself? Was it hard to do? And as the others said - is the ride much more harsh or the handling much better?

Hi
Did it with a mate he owns his own garage, used his tools and airline, he really just guided me have to say was pretty easy
Ride is firm but not choppy, think that's down to fitting the new dampers and not just springs.
I am really pleased with the result :smug:
-
Looks good Mate....the only advise I can give is try to find a deep front splitter for it. Makes it look even better. Mine is also lowered 60/40 and gives a good ride. I have 16 inch wheels on mine.
-
Looks good. :afro:
-
looks good. I like the look of the long beach alloys on it. Am going to be getting mine powder coated this year as previous owners have had some fun with kerbs...
-

-
Great colour and great stance. :afro:
