As I have a wife and 2 sons to think of, I don't have the time for my car that I would like to, to get it through it's MOT in May.
metallic blue, 5 door, 95 N.
Good points.
6 Spoke 13" (VW) radar alloys
not using any oil
very reliable in the 3 years i've owned it (it's not started once in 3 years- needed new spark plugs!)
standard (no mod's at all, except a sony stereo that was already in the car when I got it).
clutch changed since owning the car
recent(ish) front pads
sump gasket replaced
oil pressure switch replaced
cheap road tax
Bad points.
1) will need 2 new front tyres (one has worn on the outer edge, possibly from a slow puncture on the rear, possibly needs tracking done).
2)cant remember if left or right full lock it feels notchy/clonks (my guess is a wheel bearing or driveshaft, but doesnt make any knocking noise in a straight line, so maybe more driveshaft???)
3)radiator bottle weeping
4)front shocks need replacing
5)keyed slightly on one side (about 3", not very noticable) and dented bonnet (most has been pulled out)
6) clocks not working (iro 120k, used monday to friday 70 miles a day) but is a common fault...
would probably suit someone who is mechanically minded and wants a cheap second car, or knows someone who is looking for one, or a first car.
My dad has offered me his T reg primera that's done 105k for the price of however much it will cost to get through it's mot (im guessing 100/200) as he's got a newer car, so it's time to move on and hence sell the golf...
im not expecting to get that much for it, just seeing what peoples thoughts are....
Thanks

But my estimate would be about £300-£400 max

Thanks for the reply!
I will lock the topic now as I can see that it's frowned upon to make this kind of post, sorry about that. I didn't know about that! :embarassed:
