picture the scene.... yesterday morning. a very, very quiet residential street, a light dusting of snow. along came this a3 going so fast towards top of one road with a speed bump at the end. my bro in the gti only 20metres from home, the entrance to the estate just yards ahead gets t-boned by this muppet- he only lived on that road that he came from. must of been in a rush to leave home. he apparently braked but come over the speed bump, hit my car as it past, which hit the parked whhite estate. the a3 which then subsequently turned a 360 facing where it came. ps check out the white estate, you can clearly see where it was parked. gti badge was missing and is still missing. some liquid at the front right- must be brake fluid i think. hell knows how long its gonna take to get fixed. now i have to settle for a peugeot 207. i dont do french but thats what i got till its sorted. thank god he had insurance that tool!!

denyason:
Good morning.
How absolutely awful. I am sure you are gutted.
Thankfully you are ok.
The car will be fixed and you will put it behind you.
In sympathy,
am1w

Sorry to hear about that pal!
Doesnt look too bad, and should repair easily enough
-
Sorry to hear that, you must be gutted. It doesn't look that bad, however, and should be quite repairable. The A3 seems to have come off a lot worse! I can't believe all that ice & snow on the road, though: don't the councils put salt down anymore?
-
Bad news - but it's not too bad and certainly repairable.
Stay optimistic, fella.

Main thing is you're ok. You must be gutted though, I definately would be. Hope you get a quick fix for this and back on the road in no time :)
-
Thank G-d you're ok!! Cars are so much easier to fix than people.
-
Sorry to hear
-
Where there's blame there's a claim!
I think if some1 crashed into me ide be getting airlifted to hospital lol
-
Sorry about your car mate, but as others have said, it looks like it's only cosmetic. Look at the state of the front wheel on that A3!
Main thing is that youre safe, and no-one injured. it couldve been a lot worse!
Good luck with the insurance!!
-
From your description it sounds like you weren't in the car and it was your bro that was driving.
Its bad enough when you are in the car but when you give the car out to someone and they phone to tell you they have had an accident in your pride and joy must be heart stopping?!?
Glad everyone was ok, you can always fix/replace a car.
-
Sorry to hear what happened! More important everyone involved is ok! Your car definitely look fixable----new front wing+bumper+/-bonnet
That A3 got damaged front suspension---maybe a bit too fast for the road condition???? I bet he hardly got any tread on his tyres!
What annoys me is the police keep emphasizing on catching speeders but they do nothing for car owners who don't look after their car. I was following a chap this morning doing 20mph whose windscreen is still covered with steam+frost!
-
not sure i follow exactly what happened, but like others, hope it all works out ok for you.

yeah... why the hell was he going so slowly!

no injuries thats the main thing
given the age of the A3 it could be written off as a result
Police action ? - bet they don't want to know but driving with undue care n attention ?
One of those things i'm afraid - gutted for you but a few days in the bodyshop and it'll be back.
-
thank you all for the replies.
im not really gutted. its only a car. only issue is the hassle. afterall i will get it back- nearly new. its just annoying. luckily he admited blame straight away. one positive thing was the white estate in one of the pics( pic with the lady in brown coat) is now correctly parked! lol look at the unsnowed patch it left. incidently she is his wife and came from their house. so both of use unfortunately only live metres away.
wasn't a big crash, no air bags or nowt but i think there is internal damage- looking at the liquid to the right front wheel. not forgetting door damage too. dont know the gti badge went which is funny i think...

Arsehole in an Audi.
Townies a little sprinkling of snow and they are unable to drive.
Glad your bros ok and the car i hope is repaired to a decent standard.

Sorry to hear about the crash bud. Personally I wouldnt have settled for a 207, specially if you dont like it, you are entitled to a like for like replacement while yours is fixed, their insurance will pay for it so you wont be out of pocket. Anyway, all the best.

+1.. dont settle for anything less than a GTI! even if it is a mk5
-
