what years the car?
its a 2e, certainly if its a 93 car or older
pipe is what you say, just replace with some tubing you can buy at halfords or similar, no biggie
-
edit, is this even a mk3?
-
That's a Mk3 engine in a Mk2 but the OP may have used that pic because it shows the hot air feed(?) quite well.
-
the motors from a '97 from what i understand, its in a jetta mk2. Thanks, i assume the diameter of the pipe doesnt matter too much?
-
hmmm not from a 97 with that air flow meter, it (looks like) a bosch... which was early spec, 2E, 1992 -93 cars
-
The pipe diameter shouldn't matter I wouldn't have thought, all it does is takes hot air from the exhaust manifold and into the airbox I think?? I removed mine :)

AFMs off a pb mk2 ive been told, along with the driveshafts and radiator ive been told. box is off a mk3 though, brakes of a mk2 gti.
bit of a frankenstein car!

Airbox / AFW looks to be PB spec.
-
I agree, looks like a PB digifant engine to me as well apart from the later mk3 breather / rocker cover.
-
Its boggling isnt it. Wheres the vagcom port on a 2e? ive been told mk2 digifants dont have a port for it, so i suppose thats onee way of finding out.
-
port on 2E is behind dash blanks under heater controls to the right of the heated rear window button
