Title: paint splashes - how to remove safely?

hi
there are some strange red paint splashes on front wing near wheel arch of my mk 3 metalic black newly purchased baby
had planned on wash and wax soon (bought the meguires kit from waxamomo!) but not sure how to get rid of these paint splashes first without fading/marking the paintwork.  i;ve seen threads on clay bars but not sure that would work and anyway is there a cheaper safe option as it is only tiny area - about size of a hand - and i am skinto.   :cry:

can you try and get some ok'ish quality pics up so i can see what it looks like, i'll put a few suggestions up when ive had a look dude :wink: try and get some good close ups if you can.

hi guys
photos of the paint splashes below (and the %&**^% rust bubbles - summertime job!) .  the red paint splashes are def an oil based paint or enamel and look like car paint (or poss gloss?).  Kind of looks like a previous driver drowve through a paint puddle as rthey are on plastic trim behind wheel too.  any sugestions how to get off without ruining my own paint?  ta

right looking at that i dont think tar and glue remover will touch that tbh, i would tackle it with some wet n dry 2000grit or higher and rub extremelly gently over the red splodges keeping wet at all times with either water or a mildly soapy solution till they are removed completly then polish out where ive rubbed with some medium to fine compound on a rotory polisher, you could polish after by hand if havent got a rotory or a Da but you need to have a good technique to acheive the desired result.

cheers for that mate. will give that a go -when i've worked up a bit of courage to put sandpaper on my paint - and it's stopped raining!!!  :smiley:

if your superbrave a paint razor will remove those (use them to remove runs in clear coat ;) )
