Thinking of putting a vr6 engine in my 16v, Will this be a straight swap and what exactly will i need?
Cheers Carl.

Everything...., just sell your 16v and buy a vr, lot easier that way.

+1
Engine conversions like 16v/VR6 are pointless imo, because it's too much work and sometimes more expensive, than just buying a complete car, lol
If you are bored, do a 1.8T conversion.

My other and more sensible option was to change the camshaft, Any recomendations for which cam will be best for road use? And how hard wil it be to change? Thanks guys.

i would of thought if u wanted to do it it would be easyer to change a 16v to a vr6 then what it is an 8v he would alreday have the right cluch setup so whould it not just be engine gearbox bay loom and ecu

Yeah, that's about it...easier, but given the price of Mk3 VR6s...still hardly worth it.

i know yeah its true would be better to buy one selling the vr6 engine ect and selling the car would get enough money to buy a nice vr6
