Hi all,
I was wondering whether or not the fitting for the Vento hood, grill and lights would fit straight onto a Golf. More importantly, would the light/power connectors be the same?
Thanks!

more importantly has this question been asked 1,230,203 times? :undecided:
-
Yes, though the light connectors will be different if your Golf had the two chamber lights. The connectors from the Vento should plug right in though
-
It wont fit at all i'm afraid without serious welding.

And that's just to get the lights to fit onto the slam panel! Don't be forgetting the custom fabrication to the wings and bonnet, aswell as the technical wiring harness adapters, and the fact the lights won't sit right with the Golf bumper. I have a Vento bumper in my shed if you want it?
-
Then you have to fit the grille!
-
F**k me, that was a nightmare. Those clips just don't like to push in, unless you modify the slam panel a little, with an angle grinder, or hacksaw. Did you have any probs with yours Mike?
-
The vento front was the reason i sold it.
-
I changed mine back but was a lot of work. New slam panel, new bonnet, new wings, new wiring loom all the way back to the fusebox, new grill, new headlights, new bumper, I'd never do it again personally.
-
Don't listen to them jokers
You need to cut a few parts of the slam panel away to fit the grill and headlights, and you need the vento front crossmember and subframe.
The lights are as shep said, if they are single chamber, straight in, if not then you need to re-wire all the headlight look with the vento unit and it is advisable to stick relays on it too.
You need vento bonnet, headlights and grill.
But what shep said about the lights is true tough
-
Thanks ha
I'll see what it's like when I get the grill then. The lights are so expensive :O
-
Absolute bollox?
My car had twin chamber lights, took them off and fitted Vento lights no problem?

Why do people bother with this, looks sh!t
Better to spend money on decent mods like suspension, wheels/tyres.....or better still save it!!!

Why do people bother with anything on a 15 year old economy box?
-
I personally think it gives the car a very 'classic euro' look. I'll photoshop the mods onto my car and see what it looks like
-
i love vento fronts they look so much better . i have a vento front on my golf , and i didnt change hardly anything , the wings are my original golf wings , and front panel is original golf panel , all i changed was the headlights which plugged straight in and bonnet , and bought a de badged vento grille .
-
Nothing needs cutting, you need bonnet, grill and lights if they are from the same year all the wiring will be the same.

thats why all the mk3's PW have it done. . . and the car of the year in PW was a mk3 with a vento front end.
looks nice if done right... colour, look etc.

I would rather do the mk3.5 front conversion. That would look nuts

Not really keen as the back does not really match.

If the back matched, then it would be an ugly mk4
