Title: My early Mk2 16v has no rear antiroll bar fitted,is this normal ?
Post by: s1monc on 22 February 2010, 15:33
I have a 1987 Mk2 16v early one with 239mm front brakes & quarterlight windows. Its had the rear beam removed & new bushes fitted, discs, bearings etc but their was no rear antiroll bar fitted to the car.

Should it have one ? I thought all gti's had rear arb's.

Cheers Simon.

The stiffening is within the rear beam, there is rod that runs in the exposed cavity that you can see, they don't have an additional roll from factory, some people add them later Eibach, Weitec etc..
