Title: Blue coolant temp sender for Digifant

Monring fellas,

My motor failed on its Emmisions very high HC content so must be running too ruch with white smoke and lots of moisture coming out exhaust.

I've taken a look at rubjohnny's tuning guide and need to buy a blue temp sender but my question is, is there anywhere cheaper than VW?? The price is now £25 + VAT for a sender... I know GSF have one but they arent supposed to last as long.

It might sound tight but VW annoy me when it comes to parts like that ;-D

still showing up as 14.85+VAT for the blue sensor from VW on mine, are you sure its the blue one they priced for you and not the earlier white one?

Yeah it's defo the blue one, I noticed your in Bracknell, it was VW Reading I rang. Where are you getting the price for this part? 15 sheets is more bearable ;-D

getting it from my copy of ETOS, which I updated the prices on yesterday. tho tbh not always 100% accurate, not like I'm a dealer  :grin:

may just be they're looking at the wrong part, wouldnt be the 1st time. the confusing thing is the blue sensor says 'for models with catalyst' in ETKA, which is wrong. all post 88 digi mk2s use the blue sensor even if non-cat!  The only one thats specifically listed for PB without cat is the early white sensor, which is significantly more expensive.

if you ask em to priuce up the part number above and its still £35, then it seems the price has indeed gone up! in that case, I would PM mattneck on here, he works for veew services and all the stuff they sell is proper top notch :)

Mine cost 14 odd quid in december from VW Nuneaton. They tried giving me the more expensive option aswell and there was some confusion as to the catalytic convertor.

Arhh it seems i was asking for the wrong part... oops well it is 14.80 + VAT so I'm happy with that.
Ordered it from VW Woking as Camberley dont seem to anwer phone calls

Well then rubjonny now i know your in the Bracknell area I might be pestering you a bit more  :grin:

yeah camberly only have the 1 parts geeza and non of the other muppets in the office will answer his phone if he is busy. he is actually good at his job too, and doesnt bat an eyelid when I ask for bits for a MK1 cabby which has 16v scirocco front brakes and MK3 rear callipers etc  :grin:
