just broke the headgasket in the syncros ABF, think gasket must have been on way out anyway so probaly needed doing anyway.
it was going all to well, everything was setting up so nicely even got the petrol/meth change over unoticable, AFR's and Spark were looking pritty much damb spot on and it was making the ponies so thought id give it a few more revs and see if would do the 200.
it didn't headgasket decided to retire :( ether must have been on the way or it was tired and i pinged it. lots of smoke and swearing later finished sulking new gasket and bolts orderd head is in shop haveing a 4tho reface, and it'll be ready to have another go this afternoon, or do i get the die gringed back out and poke it more first

Sounds awesome (apart from the HG issues!). Look forward to seeing it out on track at somepoint.

i can't wait to get it on the track. pulling rest of the car into garage next week as well for magor surgory.
strip, powdercoat and rebuild frount and rear subframes. seamwled some of the shell, and remove the dents and scratches and maybe if work keeps comeing in a current rate there will be a cage going in as well :smiley: then i'll get keen and respray it

It was tidy with 170bhp.
Can't wait for a steer of it on the 'bodies :cool:

And with the shell stiffened.
Still, it'll never be as fast as a 16V on K-jet...... much.

yup my name is down to play with the 928 boys other good news is it cracked 200 this evening :smiley: tho it needs more work before happy with it
the mongrel so far
42 mm Throttel bodies, megasquirt 2Extra, dizzy replaced with wasted spark coilpack, DIY ported head, vernier cam chain pully, vernier cam belt pully, 4-2-1 maninfold, 2nd set of injectors in stand off config, methanol. diffrent inlet cam think it was an abf exhaust cam.
the throttel bodies gave it a good boost and the meth gave it the magor kick up the arse and thats where the powers come from.
if i crack through tomorrows work by reasonable time, ( fix a metro, prep transit for mot and drop a seat ibiza g box ) i'll try get it setup just on petrol and see what it dose, hopefully £'s allowing i'll be abel to arrange all the bits to get the standoff injectors working in the car with meth for coomb :smiley:

yup cyl 3 blew threw into the waterjacket it's the top favoret trick
can't blame it really. the engine was orignaly in a cordoba that was bought off a chav in newport. it got overheated quite badly after the radiator conversion due to a faulty thermostat, and i did rattel it with some detonation. droped the head off to be checked but as thought it was fine so just had 4 tho off to reface it. should have invested in some arp headstuds really

i was tempted by headwork. bought myself a nice new watch instead. just having a std rebuild, guides etc

Sweet VAG Trophy and Mk2 GTI Championship the weekend before, 18/19.. 18ths my birthday to so that will be a good way to spend it :grin:
