hi there could any one tell me compared to a standard gti what extras was on the edition 30 . i used to have the brochure but cant find it cheers
-
Basically:
- bigger turbo, slightly different engine internals, so the car produces 230bhp instead of 200bhp.
- body-coloured trim (front spoiler, side skirts, rear valance)
- 18" pescara alloys (std gti had 17" as standard)
- half-leather seats with heated seats.
- Edition 30 logos on the back and inside the car
Anyone want to add anything else?

Sits a bit lower as well

No it doesn't

Cost you around £2K more for same year/mileage. I was going to swap my GTI for an ED30, but the cost to swap put me off. A decent remap will give the GTI more BHP for around £300+. Don't get me wrong, given the choice I'd have an ED30, but it depends on your circumstances and what you want! Also, to add, the one I drove had electric seats and a CD dash mounted multichanger, not sure if these are standard.

How much are they , and is that for DSG Gene?

From brochure:
Darkened rear light cluster
Door sill strip with 'Edition 30' logo
Red stitching on steering wheel.
As said, undoubtably a better car, but when it was new was certainly not worth the £3k extra (every magazine agreed). Second hand is different and probably worth paying £1.5-2k more.

The list price over a GTI when I bought my ED30 brand new was just exactly £1,715 (plus I got a decent £800 discount on mine). Many of the magazines made their initial judgements based on an estimated price of the Edition 30.
I reckon people would have paid that if it was a stock K03 GTI special edition at 230bhp, with colour coded bits, the 18" BBS alloys and the upgraded half leather interior with heated seats!
