Title: 6x9 wiring
Post by: braderz on 20 February 2010, 13:53
I have a set of 6x9's that currently work off an amp, however i only want my sub to run off the amp, but i dont currently have my sub in anyway until i sort this.
I have a sony bt3600 xplod stereo which has 3 pre outs on the back of it, 1 for sub, 1 for rear out and 1 for front out.
Am i right in thinking I can wire the 6x9s to the rear out preouts so that they would work like the normal speakers in the car or soes it still treat them like a sub?
my amp runs from the sub but only has one channel hence my problem.
ive seen autoleads adapted pc1-601 or 602 that looks like it might be the right bit but not sure.
Any help cheers

the rear outputs will be full range fading outputs.

You would still need to run these into some kind of external amplifier though, yeah?

you wont need an amp for the 6x9's, just wire them from the speaker wiring plug on the iso connector. identify the rears, remove old wiring, join new wiring to plugs. job done :)

even better ditch the 6x9's your sub will sound loads better without them
