Title: new mk3 owner - cold start question
Post by: julesdub on 19 February 2010, 23:23
hiy all
just bought 1996 mk3 8v GTi.  lovely!  can't work out how to put up pics here..?
anyway it has a problem cutting out when starting from cold...until engine warms up. after about 5 minutes everything is fine and runs great.  but it is annoying to start with.  any suggestions??
cheers

As for the cold start issue, any more details? Does car warm up quickly? What's engine temp doing?

sounds like a sensor fault, possibly the one in the airbox if there's one there and its covered in dust? no harm in checking...
