Post by: JJH on 18 February 2010, 22:07

I sense sarcasm. yum yum.....

Not at all.
Am genuinely grateful.
I really did not know there was a recently released Accessory Brochure.
Hence my post about the door sills and boot protector.
Many thanks once again.

Ok cool, there are three types of door sills, steel 3dr @ £125, 5dr £153.
black/silver poly type @ £110 and transparent at £80/£88

Some of the wheels are real nice, specially the Vision and Karthoum 18's @ £1000 all round.

Most impressive, price wise, if you want them, are the 2 x 7'' TFT screens for the back @ £286.

Only thing I'm gonna get is a simple VW leather 24 CD holder for £11.

Does this brochure have pictures?

There has always been an accesories brochure for dealer fit stuff available from the dealer.  Pretty basic though and no pics.

Unfortunately, my dealership is approximately 150 miles from me!
Anyway, my car is locked down. Can't change a thing but can spend more money on dealer supplied bits-n-pieces!
It never ends.
Am so sick of waiting.

5 minutes for you, 5 hours for me (UK roads!), 4 weeks to wait even though BW is 9 for both of us.
You will get your car first. You can even collect it from the factory.
Now that is a good idea as VW might do a better PDI than some of their rubbish dealerships.

Nope "not clever thinking Baines"
It has to go to the VW dealer/importer in this case namely the "trimmer" for the leather-act....but thanks anyway..
What is PDI.. :embarassed:

BTW if all goes well I should be able to pick it up on the 2nd of April but no hard confirmation yet...

Yeah.  I didn't READ THE THREAD till I got home (left yesterday evening).  So I didn't know.

Oh, I see what you mean.  A bit sad, but my cousin was 83, had had a great life, active and still with a part-time job, and she'd just joined a gym to improve her fitness.  She died very suddenly, but peacefully, with all her affairs in order.  Although it still felt too soon, the main sentiment at the funeral was that there were a lot of very worse ways to go.

Brochure just arrived!

I do love my dealership, they always come good.

This is what I have decided to get:
(1) Premium protection pack, includes luxury carpet mats, front & rear mudflaps, flexible loadliner, steel door trims (5 door) - £375.50
(2) Rear chrome strip - a bit vulgar, but I am a Londoner! - £70
Grand total (fitted) = £445.50

Later on I may get cruise control - £162.50 fitted
There is also an RNS 310 Sat Nav for £1022.50 + £129.00 for the Nav disc for the UK & Ireland
Title: Re: Accessory brochure finally printed.
Post by: Snoopy on 20 February 2010, 10:45
how many pages is it?

Is it not cheaper to just get the front & rear mudflaps, flexible loadliner, steel door trims individual? As you have carpet mats and VWs modern day version of luxury is not what i would call it  You should see the carpet in my mk1 its like a shagpile out of a rolls.

At long last an alternative Alloy to replace the Monza Shadows from Volkswagen.
Ordered the following yesterday Vision Alloy wheels, not cheap at £276 per wheel but compatible with the BBS I was looking at. The Vision alloys look fantastic.
Also order steel sill plates , rear bumper protection along with a rear chrome strip and finally GTI mud flaps for my GTI which is hopefully getting built in April.

Snoopy:
Taken your advice.
Will order:
(1) Door sill steel trims for 5 door - £153.00
(2) Luggage net on boot floor - £41.00
(3) Front rubber floor mats - £30.50
(4) Rear rubber floor mats - £26.00
(5) Rear GTi mudflaps  - £78.00
(6) Front mudflaps - £62.00
     Total = £390.50

Might also ask dealer to fit cruise control for £162.50 (fitted cost).
I have not used this facility on any of my cars so I am 50/50 about purchasing it.
Gti has specific mudflaps for above price. No mention if they are just rear ones or both front & rear ones. I think the former. Mudflaps are not available for the R.

Dealer is willing to supply above at trade prices, so I will be paying quite a bit less.
Good dealership. Super effecient.

Must be so annoying for you not having the brochure. I can really understand your frustration.
Hopefully they will have it downloadable soon.
The cover of this brochure is headed 'My Golf Accessories'.

Those mudflaps I can almost gurantee are not both front and back, there is no way VW would sell both sets for that price.

Mudflaps. The mats were £53.60 Front and £32.60 rear but prices have gone up and up and so has VAT. My premium protection pack price at only prices is less than the one you quoted.

PS
If anyone want the upto date prices you can download the golf price list off the VW website and its listed near the back of the book under retailer supplied accessories. Or search for them on the accessories website when its back on line

Refined my selection of 'Retailer Supplied Accessories'!
Cannot bring myself to pay £140 for mudflaps. Totally ridiculous.

New list is as follows:-
(1) Door sill steel trims for 5 door - £153.00
(2) Luggage net on boot floor - £41.00
(3) Front rubber floor mats - £30.50
(4) Rear rubber floor mats - £26.00
     Total = £250.50

The above costs include 17.5% VAT and fitting where necessary.

I might add cruise control for £162.50 (fitted), depending on the discount I get from my dealer.

Fabulous colour, Shadow Blue.
Saw one recently and it really was quite impressive.
You will get your car about the same time as all of us.
From what you say, your dealer is not very 'with it'!

It can look quite drab in the dull light but when the sun hits it i really liked it. The drabness i quite liked too as it made the car blend in. My local dealer had one in so i got to see it first hand over a few weeks to make my mind up. In hindsight if i had not took my time in those weeks i would have had the car months ago. You live and learn.

Choosing the correct colour should be a very careful process.
You did the correct thing.
Shadow Blue is a very beautiful and rich colour.
Your pictures are excellent.
Look at it this way, due to the delay you will get a 10 Reg car.
Perfect!

Kev:
Your car is loaded enough as it is.
Are you somehow trying to convert it into a 5 door?
I would love your spec, but I am too poor to attain your dizzy heights.

Misses wants cruise control, we need mudflaps, proper car mats, door sills, and just whatever else is there.

I'm not that bad to be honest, I just let her get away with most to save arguing and she prob does the same for me. When it comes to finances she definately looks after the money and I wouldnt have it any other way to be honest, I would have it spent in a week. She works with business banking so knows how to work with money and spend it wisely.

'We are waiting, we are waiting .....'
Don't blame the postman, it is your dealer.
Push for a discount.
You are really patient with them.
They are truly hopeless.

Saw the actual Vision Alloys on a golf in the dealer yesterday and I have to disagree with the horried statement. They do look rather nice in the flesh! Seriously considering putting them on my ordered GTI come May/June.

Might actually go back to the dealer and request if I can substitute these for my upgrade to 18" monzas for the same upgrade price.

Thanks for the upload.

Having seen that, I can now see why some people would think they are horrid.
Maybe I was just starstruck with the showroom cars.

Oh well back to my orginal choice of 18" monzas!

Are these Visions not finished in titanium silver where as the ones in the current brochure are polished silver and black? Ether that or they are needing a good clean. I have ordered the Visions for my Pearl Black GTI and am confidant the car will look very smart. Will load up a photo when the car arrives mid April I hope

The above photo is pollished you can tell. But that photo from the look of it was took in the shade with little light reflection on the wheels.

Yea I see what you mean Snoopy. Admit they don’t look too exciting in that picture. Oh well I will just need to hope they look good on the car when it arrives.
