Reading the reviews of the Mk6, all the reviews raved about how quiet they were. Well mine impresses me when I consider the noise ahead of me - the engine, wind noise against the screen etc., but not from the sides. As cars pass by it sounds like the windows are cracked open or the doors are ajar. Six months in and I'm still nudging the lifters and checking the doors in the mirrors; I haven't got used to it and am wondering if "they all do that". The panel gaps on the doors are all tight and uniform and the seals look like they're fitted properly.
Anyone have similar experiences? Sought a fix? Thanks in advance.

I've only test driven the mk6 GTi and going to that from a mk2 GTi, it seemed silent hehe

I have had a similar experience.Inside the Golf is very high quality but I have noticed that sometimes the windows sounds as if they are open or if the door isn't shut right.
It only happens sometimes though and I have found a good way to deal with the problem is to turn up the music one more notch
But if this is a more common problem then I might consider getting it looked at.
Thanks for all the replies - I'll ask the dealer to have a look.
Let me know how you get on.
