have searched this one and followed andy s tutorial on here and stilll no luck . i bought the lead from ebay and it came with a disk so installed that and done the com 3 and it comes up with port in use interface not found . im running vista vagcom 409.1 please help b4 laptop gets run over
-
had same kinda problem ........... right click on vagcom on ur desktop........"shortcut"......click run as administrator......
try that and maybe also need to tweak options under control panels - device manager
-
You sure the cable is 100% on com3, as you can enter device manager and change com numbers, as when I plugged cable into windows 7 it set it as com5 and there is no com5 option, so I changed the com5 to a com3 in device manager and told vag-com to use com3.
Also the test will fail to find interface unless the vagcom cable is plugged into car with ignition in "on" position.

cool il ty that tonight

i gave up with the version 409.1 that cam with the lead of ebay i installed the 311 version and all is ok but im still limited to what i can do . is it possible to delete the fault code to c if this returns
-
In 409.1 you click 'Clear Fault Codes' where the faults are listed when you scan the module.
Also try update your drivers using http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
-
computers they have a mind of there own i reinstalled version 409.1 after installing the 311 one and hey presto it works . now its asking for it to be verified
-
Did you use 409.1s or 409.1us? Or did you download it from their website, if so which did you download?
-
the us one came with the ebay lead that did nt work so i downloaded it from ros tech website and no thats the one im using
-
The left or right version ?
You should use the left version "For MODERN SERIAL Interfaces".
The right hand version version is if you're using the Ross Tech cable and not an ebay special.
-
yea was def the left one , is there any way i can get it verified
-
Pay Ross Tech, think the license is about £50~
Otherwise ignore that (if you can, mine is the free version and only says I need to register if I do the AutoScan).
Will it let you manually scan modules?
-
or just send me the serial number and il give u the activation code :lipsrsealed:
