Mines inbetween 900 - 1000rpm is that about rite then?

yeah it is - if you hook it up to VAGCOM it will be around 850rpm - 900rpm but the gauge isn't totally accurate

Oh cool so mine sits at 1k when it's cold and when it's warm, sound OKish then or me got a tiny prob?

Yeah dead on all the time, regardless of hot or cold, it just sits on there and doesn't move when idle.

What could cause that? The car has been Vagcom'd twice now and nothing has ever come up.

I don't honestly know I'm afraid  :sad:

Though reading through another thread in the main section it would appear a chap has a problem with his alternator  :undecided:

My car has a brand new alternator put on, well it was in the last 10k miles.

Jeez need to get to the bottom of this, gonna start a thread to see if anyone can help as I don;t want to hi-jack this thread.

Cheers mate, hope someone can shed some light on this.

There is deffo something wrong with my car which fooks the mpg up but I aint got a clue what it is.

Hopefully someone can explain about this idle business.
