Hi guys,
I have a standard Golf MK5 at the moment and would love the GTi bumper.
Is this a good one do you think?

Thanks

For the price it might be ok ?,the ''real'' thing from VW would cost a hell of a lot more. Only thing with pattern parts is they can be a right pain to get to fit correct.

That looks like 1 i fitted to my GT except i bought mine from Vagen in Ireland.
The quality was like a factory finish and was a perfect fit

Hey Robby, can you swap out the upper and lower grilles separately like on the OEM bumper?
-
Yep the grilles come out, theses are the only visable difference to a genuine VAG part - the rep bumper has gloss grilles instead of matt but you can fit a genuine in place instead
-
I brought it a few days ago :D Sitting int he lounge atm lol
Need to get it sprayed..
What colour is Golf 1.6 MK5 black ? e.g colour codes?
Thanks

Cool, thanks for the info
I was talking to Topher at Vagen yesterday and he said that all the OEM parts fit directly and that some customers have fitted the GT slatted grills instead. Looks like I'll be investing in this

Bumper ahs gone in for spraying. Will posts pics before and after and how easy/hard it is to fit.

Fitted the bumper today. Was a slight pain in the @ss but its on now. Had a problem puting the number plate holder onto the centre section. In the end I made my own bolts :P
Ill get a pictue tomorrow afer the car has been washed.

robby,
Did you use the original bumper bar/headlights etc?
No other parts required?
Can you still get to the tow eye?
Looks good!

^^^ I might get a rep one, then... save me a painting job!

Dont understand making a car look like something it isnt? Wouldnt the £250 of the grill be better spent on insurance towards a proper GTI?

Yes.

Yes, It would be, however, I am 18 with an MK5 1.6 Golf and thats enough for me at this time. If I was around 21+ I would have got a GTI.
But since im only 18... a conversion will do, im lucky to have this car at 18 and a GTI would cost its price in insurance or unsurable.
-
Why not save the money for when you are 21? Seems a waste when it will add no value and most likely deter people when you sell?
That way you could get something better than a GTI when you are 21?
-
I didnt plan on getting a golf :P
All my family grouped together and brought it for my 18th, I can really say "i dont want it now, but can i have the money, to save for a gti at 21" :P
I am happy and very lucky to have such a good car at my age.
I got the bumper as I love the look of the GTI and makes my car look a bit more beefy, rather than the standard one.
I have the standard bumper in the garage so will put it on if I sell, and sell the conversion bumper off.

Crikey - I got a £450 1989 Fiesta for my 18th.

Leave Evoss alone, as long as he takes the GTI badge off the front I cant see the problem, looks much better with that front on it. Being 18 he has NO chance of a GTI (insurance). At 18 I had a 93' Clio so fair play to him
Any chance of some photos? Would love to see how you got on.

I don't think he has made it look like something it's not.
It's not badged GTI...has no skirts and different wheels.
So what if people like the design of the bumper?
Fair play, I say...
-
It dosent have the GTI badge on the front, just like the design :)
Ill get some pics soon..
Only downfall is i have 2 holes where the fogs should be :P Might get a cheap pair or fillers.
