Just got my 1.8t running today, there was a awful noise coming from the Power Steering pump, and the engine shuddered like hell. I removed the belt and restarted the engine, no noise, I had used the Mk2 Pump on the 1.8T engine. It still turns freely by hand. I had ATF fluid in the reservoir.
I have a Mk4 Power Steering Pump that came with the engine, can I fit this to run the Mk2 Power Steering rack.
Is there a pressure difference between the pumps or anything that would damage the rack.

the pump has different pipe fittings so mk2 pipes wont go on :(

Tried fitting the Mk4 pump instead of the Mk2 and it works. No leaks from the pipes anyway.
I removed the banjo bolt and the insides look the same, the only difference is the connection on the Mk4 pump is deeper, and you have to nip the Mk2 power steering pipe all the way down, it just barely catches.
Here are some pics of the setup.

Oh yeah, and everything runs super smooth now, no more juddering, and its alot quieter too, I must strip the Mk2 pump to see what went wrong.
