Post by: Mrwebster on 14 February 2010, 17:00
done conversion from dual mass to  g60 flywheel and vr6 clutch kit WORKED PERFECT for 3 months. replaced with another clutch kit again vr6.  put gearbox back on and bolted everything up took a weekend, started it up and sounds like clutch arm is banging on pressure plate! ok, tried again this weekend, bought a new clutch kit. stripped it down put new clutch kit in  checked arm,  it was grooved,  filed it down smooth again so it shudnt hit,  now it still hits,  Cant engage any gears all i get is bang bang bang where the rivets on the pressure plate are clacking against the clutch arm that holds the bearing in!  its got so bad ive SORN the golf and put it up for sale. bought a new car today. sick of taking this crap thing to bits. am i being stupid is there seomthing i havent done?  pleae help im in desperate need.  cars filthy, interiot too. bolts are starting to get worn out   and my back is killing me

this is why its worth paying VW £200 to fit it. cozzy probly ther best fitter in sinclair group took just over 3 hours doing mine and it still drives like a dream 4-5k miles later.

Well many reasons why clutch may not work, theyre not a straight forward thing to do, only if you know what your doing should they be done
