Title: Temporary lack of power
Post by: mikemk4gti on 12 February 2010, 21:16
Took the car for a quick spin yesterday, pulled away from a roundabout and got to 5500 rpm in second and then when i changed to third there was no power, so slowed down dropped down a gear and still gutless.
Pulled over and turned engine off and on, drove off and still gutless. could hear the turbo spinnging but wasn't at full chat. after about a minute of driving all was back to normal and its been fine since.
Any ideas?? the engine light didn't come on.

unless it went into limp mode, you need vagcom.

when mine webt into limp mode the engine light would come on and stay on till vag was used to turn it off. possible coil pack breaking down.

I have vag com but haven't had chance to check for codes yet. I thought the engine light would of come on if there was a fault?

try doing the same again see if it happens! the reason i say it is because you might have a boost pipe split opening up at high boost!

Hello,

Are you still running the N249 on the full system or have you carried out the bypass?   Check 1st with Vacgom, then get back to us with the code.
