Just found this on ebay...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-RNS510-MFD3-BLUETOOTH-KIT-GOLF-MK6-3C-MFD-RNS-VER-C_W0QQitemZ220546928239QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item33599f0e6f
I know the original VW bluetooth isnt rSAP, anyone have any opinions about whether this is suspect or not??
They seem to have good feedback, so thinking of investing in this over the MoBridge or Fiscon...
EDIT: Sorry I meant the EU kit is rSAP and American isnt rSAP...just getting over excited !!

I have this one, from the same saler, works 100% fine and is not rSAP.
Make a much lower offer i had mine much cheaper from him
-
Cheers Golfgti5, Just made an offer, see what he comes back with.
Out of interest, to code this to my RCD510 (when I get it), is it just a case of activating Telephone 77 on the can gateway?

Happy days, he does accept quite a bit less than hi buy it now price.

Yes, just what i told you, good job.
Yes, activate Telephone.
Good luck, keep me/us posted

Dare I ask what you offered?
-
I started with an offer of £190 but looks like he has it set to auto refuse offers below £200, cos that was my next offer, took a couple of hours until he accepted. So £210 with shipping, less than the vw touch kit and much less than Fiscon and MoBridge.
Just need a car to put it in now.
-
I don't get it. If this is all VW stuff, why don't they offer it?
-
Its only a guess, but I know the American BT kits are not rSAP, so I think that theres some contract that says EU kits have to be using rSAP, and so the ones this guy on ebay has are American kit (?).
And just thinking about it some more...I`m assuming that the voice dialling will work too.
-
Good stuff for new VW buyers to know. Thing is, if the non-rsap version has the same functionality as the rsap, i wonder why they bothered?!
-
I see the original position for mounting the control unit is under the passenger seat, but is there enough room to mount this unit behind a RCD510?
First it was going to be a Fiscon, then Mobridge and now I think finally I will get one of these - OEM mic and iPhone compatibility sounds perfect.
-
I`d say golfgti5 is the man to ask any questions of, I dont know for sure that voice dialling will work - I dont even have my car yet, never mind the kit - I`m just assuming.
Good bit cheaper than the Fiscon/MoBridge kits too, I just wanna know why we havent heard about it sooner

Voice dialling is no problem, just put 1 extra wire on the RNS510;

Is there any advantage going for a Fiscon when this unit seems to do it exactly the same (or does it?)?

Fiscon is not original VW...............
-
So this is plug and play?
Remove the RCD/RNS, plug in, and code it..that's it?
No microphone wiring to run?
How's it work then if you don't have to run one?

Here is a very good guide for installing the OEM bluetooth - http://www.octavia-vrs.com/cms/content/integrated-bluetooth
It's a little more simple if you buy one of the full kits from ebay (as linked earlier in thread).

I only had a quick look at the installation link you linked to but it looks a whole lot of hassle compared to the fiscon or mobridge which are plug and play and all done within inside 5 minutes.
I suppose the big difference is that unit is housed beneath the seat rather than tucked away behind the head unit.

^^^ I agree the original install was a lot more work, but with the newer looms on the kits from ebay it no longer requires the extra wires to be connected and is plug and play (same style as the fiscon). You can also choose to mount the bluetooth module behind the headunit but it really not diffcult to put it in the OEM place under the seat
