Title: Gearbox AUG Code

Is this a common gearbox? The info I have is that it was fitted to post 1990 golfs and jettas.

The selector rod in mine is worn. I'm wondering if its woth trying to pick up a replacement rod or just getting a replacement box.

its a 91 on 8v box as you say aye, similar to ACD fitted to pre-91 cars, just 2nd on the AUG is a bit taller.  if ts just the selector thats worn I'd replace it, good boxes are hard to find! what makes you think its the selector rod? have you rebuilt the linkage and replaced the gear housing on the bottom of the gearstick?
