Title: dsg service, indy or dealer?
Post by: gtiski on 06 February 2010, 15:40
hi got a 05 gti dsg with 30,000mls as its nearly 5 years old now thought it would be good idea to have dsg oil and filter done, got quote from local dealer for £190. but wanderd if i should consider checking out some local vw/audi specialists. so would like to know were people on here have/would have theres done dealer or indy.

also will prob be having camblet water pump done soon so same as with that.

Not sure you will beat the £190 quoted by your VW dealer.
Checking previous invoices, the DSG oil change alone was approx £70 +VAT from a dealer a couple of years ago.

I saved £100+ on my cambelt change as opposed to a well known independent, by taking the current offer from the dealer.

gtiski, whereabouts are you? Just had my DSG oil and filter done at my local Indy for a little over £100 (I'll need to check the exact amount). VW wanted £191 with the oil at about £70, the filter a tenner or so....  'box now smoother than ever!
