Replace the rocker cover gasket :)

Thank you, is that an easy diy job and is it cheap?
Thanks

Yeah sounds like the rocker cover gasket for sure mine went last February must be the time of year for it.
Cheap to buy the parts and if you have some experience in mechanics an easy job. Can be time consuming if it's the first time you have stripped down your engine.
Just remember to clean it up properly before you put it back together.

Its probably quite a slow leak, check the crankcase breather is clear as it can make it worse, short term just soak up all the oil with kitchen towel, clean out the plug well and plug cap with carb cleaner or WD40 and it should be good for quite a while before it fills up again. I did a step by step guide on here for the 16v rocker gasket change, back in 2005 I think but it seems to have gone now.

oil on what end of the plug?

Yes and yes. GSF part no. 11047 costing £9.85 + vat (minus any discount you can blag - just ask and they'll give you 5-10% :) )
edit; If you don't want to use the old one then grab an upper inlet manifold gasket too - gsf part no. 11816 £4.10 + vat.

I had the same problem and a new cam cover gasket solved the issue.
