I've got a mk3 8v and I'm in a quandry :undecided:. The fronf of the centre console, where there is a gaping hole cd's/mobiles etc is getting on my nerves.....I've seen people installing drinks holders in here, but I'm not keen on that Idea.At the moment, I have a 4 point cigar lighter adapter in there to run the mobile/satnav/snooper, so as you can imagine, theres wires everywhere. Has anyone ever 'Blanked' this hole off? I was thinking of a thin sheet of Hardboard, cut to size, covered in black suede, and fixing in place :undecided:
Any ideas would be gratefully received, pics too
Cheers

I was going to suggest covering the hole - how about using vinyl/leathertte in a grain style similar to the plastic? Or fix the 4 point holder and have a separate flip/cover over it? Extra gauge(s)?

Yeeeesss..........I like the idea of a "Flip Front" but how would I do that? :undecided:
I don't want any dials/gauges as I'm not interested in them unless they work, and my mechanical knowledge extends to.....NOTHING!!

Make a shelf and fit the 4 point to it. The bottom half can have a fixed cover. Then make a cover to hide the 4 point with a tab at the top. Pull the tab to remove the cover and use the 4 point. Then simply place the cover over the 4 point when not required.
Or use some sort of hinged system on the cover.
A simple digtal voltmeter could be used on the fixed part of the cover.
