Just got the front Dunlops down to 3mm so had Michelin Pilot Sport 3's fitted today, what pressures are you all running? Inside the fuel cap it says 38 unloaded but the guy at Protyre put in 33 and looked up in Michelins book and said the Mk was showing 29psi.

Just coming up to 10750 and have been pretty happy with the Dunlops even though they get slated so thought i'd have a go on these new PS3's. However, made in Hungary and only 7.5mm tread new I'm not sure they'll be all they are cracked up to be....

Not in this weather they wont. wait until the summer and they will be essential in pumping that 270bhp through to the tarmac!

Well they're supposed to be the daddy in wet weather and the Dunlops were down to about 3mm so I'm hoping i'll feel a big difference mate!
BUT, what pressures are you all running!?

I'd go by what VW say it should be!

Or Michelin as they made the bloody things so should know. I think i'm just going to have a play with different pressures but still interested in knowing what you're using.

Yeah, I'd stick closer to VW's recommendations rather than Michelin. They might have manufactured the tyre but they didn't design the car. I used to run 30-32psi in my Mk2 and that was a lot lighter than a lardy-arse Mk6.

I have two settings; 'me' and 'the wife'... in the MKV, although you guys might be different.
'the wife' - built for comfort, not speed - is 32FR, 34RR
'me' - 35FR, 37RR.
