Title: ED30 shuts down 2 secs after ignition
Post by: Makaveli on 03 February 2010, 04:28
Turn the car over and it starts but then immediatley shuts down again!!!

I am abroad just now so it is the wife who is having this problem - anyone any ideas?

We have VW assistance and they are coming at 8.30 this morning but not sure if they have vagcom to diagnose the fault at the roadside as I really don't want the car going into the stealers (still under warranty) as my wife is 8 months pregnant and needs a reliable car!!!

VW assistance guy has been and it was a faulty low pressure fuel sender - been replaced under warranty and the car is moving again!!!

I had the same problem: clicky (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=7642.0)

Thankfully it was the sensor and not the pump. VW Assistance use the RAC I'm told. Was it an RAC van that turned up?

No it was a VW tech guy.  It was the wife that dealt with it all and she said that when she called VW they could send someone straight away (it was 19.30) but that it would be an RAC guy or they could send someone in the morning and that it would be a VW guy.

Think they must only use VW guys during office hours and RAC for emergency calls.
