Title: Mk II ignition barrel removal

I am trying to replace the ignition barrel of my Mk II.
I have got as far as removing the metal thingy which holds the ignition barrel. I have disconnected everything else but can see no way to actually remove the barrel from the metal thingy.
Any ideas?

You have to drill a hole in it!? Download the haynes manual:

It tells you how to do it in there!
