Title: Top Fill Radiator
Post by: warnesey333 on 02 February 2010, 09:52
I've found this on the bay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310184014621&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_1966wt_1164

I've been looking for a top fill radiator so I can get rid of the reservoir. Would this be suitable for an 8v GTi?

I am not concerned about the mounting of it, more about it's cooling ability.

Ta :)

I'm looking to do the same thing but on an 2.0 9A block rather than an 8v. Heard mk1 golf 1.6 rads do the job, so do BMW E30 rads (could be wrong) - I would expect the BMW option would be more up to the task though??

Those links should be of some use! Basically you can mate a 16v radiator to the top fill section of a mk1 radiator.
