Nope but been keeping my eye on it, had a quick email with him. Let me know how you get on with him if you do.

i was going to say to email people who have brought before, but all he has sold is Nintendos!

be very wary, especially cash on collection in E17!!!

ask him where he got hold of brand new units to cheap, has he got proof of ownership?

you know what they say, if its too good to be true, it probably is!

Way ahead of you, said I'd contacted him :) They're not new, note he lists them 'as new condition' (or something like that, wessel words)

It is used unit in perfect condition, with security tabs in place.

thank you for asking.

ok fair enough its not brand new, but it is the latest model, with latest firmware, which signals that it probably would of only come out of a newish car.

so you have to ask yourself a few questions.  why take it out, when it works? only a serious modder would remove and sell an RNS 510 which is an £1800 option to upgrade to something more flashy!

so its likely to have come out of a written off car OR be stolen!

There were 7 for sale, 3 have been sold, 4 are remaining.

I have a 56 reg Golf, how do I know if this will be compatible?

model year 06 onwards you wont have a problem.  look for the 06 or 07 in the VIN.

Slightly off on a tangent but still RNS510 related. How can I find out the serial number of an RNS510 unit? Do I have to remove it from the dashboard, and is that a difficult job?

Thank you all for your feedback.

I am still wary, would like to find a place where i can buy one and just get it fitted without any hassle.

Have a Octber 2007 '57' plate so i am not sure if the ipod adapter will work ok and if any settings via vagcom will need changing.

There's a chap on another GTi forum selling them at a decent price here: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=9605.0

Trying to get hold of one off him but can't post on the forum, think I don't have enough posts to reply in that sales sections.

Version B £475
Version C £560

Does anyone know if that guy posts on this forum?
